                                                            THE GORGONA´S ISLAND


Welcome to the paradise, to the heave, a place where you can rest so confortable that you will forget all your problems just in one day, because this is the unforgettable place, the Gorgona's Island.

Well, I share you that I went there when I was on 9th grade from school on may 2011, that travel was a kind of gift for being one of the best in my high school. So I will tell you basicly and fastly how fantastic it is, what does it have and something else..

HISTORY:

The name is from the creator Francisco Pizarro in 1527 when he went with his tripulation to explore it, but as in that epoque there weren't so much knoledge about illness and things like that, his tripulation dead caused by the weather, the snakes (there in Gorgona are so many snakes, so be careful!) and another things that the island has, so he remembered the grece's myth from the ''Gorgona Sisters'' a women with snakes in therir hairs, and in his last breath he put the name of Gorgona´s Island in mane of that myth.

 Interesting, yeah!..so this is the basic history about the name, so let's go to know where is this ubicated and what it is composed.

 LOCATION:

This beautiful Island is located at the Pacific Ocean, besides the Chocó Department, so it belongs to Guapí town. Going in boat you can late between 1 and 2 hours depending the climate, but however the seen is great.

The island is so big, and it has a lot of sea around this, so, be careful with the sharks, because there is a high zone of sharks and whales. The whales appear in certain epoques, at half of jule-august.

When you arrive you feel the breeze and the hotel, so let´s see how luxury and beautifl is this.

THE HOTEL:


 The hotel is so luxury and the service, my gosh the service is so excellent, the waiters attend you with happiness, that is one of thousand reasons why this island is the best.

Well, as I am telling you, it has more than 24 rooms, a yard, a football court, and a museum, but before I will tell about it.... lol
So, at nights you have to walk with a light, because as there in the island there are snakes (but much less than after!), with precaution you have to keeping ligthing where you are walking.
The hotel ha a fabolous restaurant, there is the feast service, they provide you a great menu at morning, aftrnoon and night..this one is the most amazing, because you can hear the ocena waves, and you can see the moon bigger!

Also it has a swimming pool...and another places to rest and enjoy. Tha nimals are so frinedly, so, the island gives you a hot welcome...

THE MUSEUM:

The museum has the things that the encrusted person found as much int he island as in the prison when the island began to work in beginning of 2000's .
all the objects it has are so delicate and you cannot touch because they are so old that in the minimun carelessness it can be destroyed and the island would loss a preciate object.

THE PRISON:

The prison closed in 1994 for Human Rights reasons was one of the most prison in the world that made wild things with the prisioners, they were the most dangerous in the country.
Nowadays, it is covered by vegetation and most of the zone now it doesn´t exist.
When you go there, if you are sensitive, you can feel the sadness and the heavy environment that there is there.

But in the most part the island is beautiful, from my experience I recommend you, believe me that you go there and then, you won´t want to come back to your country.
